I am experiencing the same issue with VirtualBox-5.0.18-106667-OSX.dmg Google isn't shedding any light on what the cause might be either. Oh -and the package is not damaged obviously, since it does work this way.
You can get the software installed by logging out (under the Apple menu), logging in as root, and running the installer there. The dmg is: VirtualBox-5.0.16-105871-OSX.dmgĮDIT: Thought I would add this for those of you on deadlines. Monkeying with control-click opens of the package doesn't help. When I dismiss the dialog, Console says this:Ĥ/11/16 2:31:44.720 PM : (.) Service exited due to signal: Killed: 9 When I double click the package, Console says this:Ĥ/11/16 2:31:34.154 PM CoreServicesUIAgent: Error -60005 creating authorization There is a blank progress bar that never makes any progress. Under 10.11.4, when double-clicking the package file, a dialog comes up stating "Verifying "VirtualBox.pkg".". The more clues you get, the easier is going to be to spot the source of the error. Your system is not a plain vanilla system. For example, Macports, Wine, python, etc.
It should start with something like:Īpr 8 11:37:32 VB-OSX-1011 Installer: LSExceptions loadedĪpr 8 11:37:32 VB-OSX-1011 Installer: PROJECT:Install-1000Īpr 8 11:37:32 VB-OSX-1011 Installer: PROJECT:Installer-853Īpr 8 11:37:32 VB-OSX-1011 Installer: Hardware: MacBookPro8,3 2.30 GHz (x 2), 3072 MB RAMĪpr 8 11:37:32 VB-OSX-1011 Installer: Running OS Build: Mac OS X 10.11.4 (15E65)įinally, and this is the crucial part, I want you to think hard, very hard, and report any modifications you've done to your system, no matter if you think they're small or big.
Copy-Paste this part into a new document, zip it and attach that. Watch the time that you start the installation and the time you end it. Please do not post all of your install.log. If you don't figure out yourself what's the problem, post the log as a zipped attachment. On the left hand side choose the "/var/log/install.log". If you don't see the log list, choose to show it. If you miss it, open the Console.app and take a look at the installer log there. Choose to "Show All Logs" from the detail level drop-down list. Once you start the installer package, press Cmd-L to show the installer log. Here's what you need to do if you want to provide some credibility to your report:
The dmg mounts on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) running OS X 10.11.4 I've downloaded VirtualBox-5.0.16-105871-OSX.dmg and verified that the sha-256 checksum is correct. A quick search for " mac stuck at verifying" will convince you. 45#p363651.Īgain, this is a problem with OSX, not VirtualBox.
